It has been another busy few months at the RPG offices, with several of our team working hard to gain professional qualifications.
Here is your complete update of what has been happening at RPG.
Team striving to gain professional qualifications
We are committed to personal development and, in recent months, several of our team have been sitting (and passing) exams.
Highlights include:
- Phil Houghton is progressing well through his Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICEAW) exams, having recently sat and passed the Financial Accounting and Reporting paper
- Rob Holland is also making excellent progress, having recently passed his Assurance exam
- Sam Lord recently passed his Case Study and has just one exam to go before he is ICAEW qualified. Nearly there Sam – keep going!
Many congratulations to all our team for their success.

The first inter-RPG football match
The first interdepartmental RPG football match took place on a wet Monday in September.
Our ‘old’ lads took on the ‘younger’ lads in a real spectacle of football! The game had it all – spectacular shots, own goals, the soles falling off John Fitzgerald’s 25-year-old trainers, Jon Hayward wearing a shirt that was older than some of the players, tireless running from Matt Hurst, Alex Todd and Rob Holland and intricate forward play from Chris Jones and Ash Horsfall.
The game was very competitive, with the ‘old’ lads taking an early lead before the youngsters’ exuberance came to the fore. Despite the rallying calls of Captain Jimmy Fish to push for the winner, the ‘old’ boys ran out of legs and the game finished 14-12 to the youth.
It was a great evening and the old boys are keen for revenge in the New Year!
Some happy clients
Our Chartered financial planning arm has provided holistic advice to RPG clients for 20 years. With offices in London, Manchester and North Wales, we provide a wealth management and financial planning service for individuals, business owners and retirees.
We thought we would share with you this recent piece of feedback we received from an RPG client:
“Because our business was growing every year, we didn’t really look at how the money we were making was put to best use, although we managed our finances as we thought best. It became apparent that we needed some expert advice to lead us in the right direction and to help us take advantage of all our allowances etc.
“Anthony O’Connor has always been very helpful and approachable whilst dealing with our affairs and we have always been able to contact him as and when we felt it necessary…this means we are left to do what we do best: that is, run a business.
“We would highly recommend anybody who is considering seeking financial advice to look at the services Anthony and his team can provide.”
