The impact of the coronavirus is a concern for many businesses.
HMRC have launched a Helpline to help businesses or self-employed individuals who are concerned about not being able to pay their tax due to coronavirus (Covid-19).
If you have any concerns ring HMRC on 0800 0159 559.
- This number is in addition to other HMRC numbers
- 2,000 experienced call handlers are available to speak to you
- Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm.
(The helpline will not be available on Bank Holidays)
For those unable to pay due to coronavirus, HMRC will discuss your specific circumstances to explore:
- Agreeing an instalment arrangement (https://www.gov.uk/difficulties-paying-hmrc/your-payment-isnt-due-yet)
- Suspending debt collection proceedings
- Cancelling penalties and interest where you have administrative difficulties contacting or paying HMRC
