RPG Group’s Grand Day Out for 2025 took place at the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City Football Club. After last year’s medieval adventure day, the team wanted a more relaxed day and the opportunity to dress up a little! You can see photos of our day below.
We decided to take advantage of being at the Etihad Stadium by offering “behind the scenes” tours which included visits to the home and away teams’ changing rooms and other iconic parts of the ground. Many people were keen to do this and the excitement built as the day progressed!
Everyone then gathered for the pre-lunch drinks reception and canapes and, as we were based in the Chairman’s Suite, we could spill out into the outside seating area. Having access to the stadium bowl while it was empty was a surreal experience for everyone, especially as the ground was being prepared for a game that evening. This time gave everyone the opportunity to mingle and catch up with colleagues.
Moving into the dining area and, after a short introduction from RPG Group Managing Director Jonathan Brownson who thanked everyone for their dedication, commitment and hard work during the year, it was time for a wonderful lunch.
The last-minute scheduling of a football match (handled magnificently by the team at the Etihad) meant that we switched venue in the afternoon to The Alan Turing Room at Vermilion which was the ideal backdrop for our afternoon’s activities! It was time to “Come on Down” and “Say what you see” as “our Survey says” it’s The Ultimate Gameshow! It was a fun packed afternoon with 10 rounds of games from well-known TV gameshows. The competition was certainly fired up and there was fun for everyone!
Afterwards there was time for the disco, karaoke – with some very enthusiastic participation! – and two games tables.
RPG Group Managing Director Jonathan Brownson explained: “The Grand Day Out is always a special day in the RPG calendar as it is when we say thank you to our team, when everyone can switch off work and enjoy themselves.
“We were delighted to be able to take advantage of the excellent hospitality facilities at the Etihad Stadium and I was thrilled that we had the highest ever number of people who joined us for the day. It made no difference which, if any, football team people supported – the excitement in the air for the whole event was palpable!
“I would personally like to thank the events team at the Etihad Stadium for going beyond all expectations in order to ensure that we all had the best possible experience. It was a day that none of us will forget.
“Thank you also to Vermilion for hosting us so perfectly and Bright Vision Events for an incredible afternoon of activities.”
