Several different plans for infrastructure investment in the north-west could boost demand for accounting services in Manchester in the years to come, as the area’s ability to accommodate big business is likely to grow even beyond its current level.

Chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander gave his speech Investing in Britain’s Future in the House of Commons on June 27th, and Manchester-based businesses will have had plenty to celebrate based on his words.

For instance, authorities in Greater Manchester have reached agreement with the government on the Earn Back scheme, which Mr Alexander said will allow investment into priority issues in the area.

Among them is the relief road planned to ease traffic demands on the route from the A6 to Manchester Airport, as well as investment into the Trafford Metrolink.

Rail travel will also receive investment, with upgrades to the “iconic” Manchester Piccadilly station, as well as to motorway junctions on the M6 between Birmingham and Manchester.

All of this should mean even more business can be conducted across Greater Manchester – and accounting services in Manchester are bound to see a growth in demand as a result.
