DFK International Global Conference in Vancouver
Jonathan Brownson and Ben Brownson recently returned to Manchester from the DFK International Global conference which took place in Vancouver. They have had much to talk about from the main conference, the breakout sessions and the various social events.
We are delighted that Ben was invited to present at the DFK International Board Meeting and the Members’ Council on DFK’s Global Quality Control Management which is facilitated by RPG Chartered Accountants.
There were some excellent keynotes speakers including Brian Blaha, CPA who challenged firms to rethink the traditional partnership model in his session on enterprise value.
Other keynote speakers included: Dr Preet Banerjee, Donny Shimamoto, CPA, CITP, CGMA, and Matthew Blank, Fred Fox of the Terry Fox Foundation, and Amy Beth Kessinger – a varied selection of speakers and all outstanding.
Delegates also heard from Warren Baker BFP FCA, BKL, UK, DFK’s new President of the Board, and Stephen Bushell, FCA, DFK Gooding Partners, Australia, Immediate Past President, who together shared DFK’s strategic plan and the vision for the years ahead.
The social events in the conference city are always a highlight but this year the boat trip had to be carefully rescheduled to accommodate England’s semi-final game in the World Cup! One of the private events that some of the delegate booked for the end of the conference was the sea plane which gave stunning views across Vancouver.
The Global Conference is an excellent opportunity to meet up with DFK members from around the world, the people we speak with on a regular basis in the course of looking after our clients. Many thanks to hosts DFK Canada, Caroline Cassidy and the whole team involved in this outstanding event.
