You are a valued member of the RPG family and nothing is more important to us than your health and safety. As the spread of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, continues to be a growing concern across the country, we’re taking extra precautions to protect you, our teammates and the communities we serve. As the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to spread, we want to take this opportunity to reassure you of our business continuity and safeguarding procedures, helping to reassure on any concerns that you may have.
The coronavirus carries complex implications for public health, with severe challenges facing the NHS in particular. Economic uncertainty has led to market disruption, but we have implemented pragmatic measures to support our preparedness and ongoing ability to deliver services to clients to the same consistently high standards.
Due to effective planning, Royce Peeling Green (RPG) is well placed to continue supporting your accounting needs, fulfilling our work as usual, while also safeguarding the wellness of our employees.
So far, the steps we have taken to combat coronavirus and maintain business continuity include:
Business continuity measures
- Extensive testing of software, systems and arrangements for flexible working, assessing the operational effectiveness of our policy in this regard. RPG employees have been asked to test their operational functionality when working off-site, and the results of those contingency assessments have been very positive.
- Communicating daily – or more frequently where required – with staff to provide status updates with regard to coronavirus and its consequences.
- Acting in accordance with official guidance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) on travel restrictions and associated logistical consequences. We have ceased travel for our colleagues except in exceptional circumstances or in order to meet a specific client need.
- Contingency planning so the firm is prepared for any updated government guidance on self-isolation and working from home, allowing our working relationships to continue as normal.
- Postponed all our external events until circumstances permit us to reschedule.
Employee health and safety measures
- Advising employees to self-isolate and avoid contact with others for 14 days if they have returned from certain affected countries on or after 9th March and for 7 days if they have a cough or raised temperature symptoms, in line with government guidance.
- Encouraging working from home if appropriate.
- Upgraded our already high cleaning and sanitisation regime
We commend the resilience shown throughout our network of clients and colleagues. Tackling coronavirus will require strong togetherness from the business community, and here at RPG we fully support those efforts in their entirety. As we assist clients and businesses who may be affected by the coronavirus situation, we’re also listening and learning from those conversations to help us evaluate and possibly implement additional client relief measures as they emerge.
We have taken and will continue to take, all necessary measures to maintain business operations while ensuring the health and safety of all personnel involved. We remain on hand to assist with any concerns that you may have, including the financial implications of coronavirus for your business and key stakeholders.
We are regularly reviewing the situation and our Directors are meeting every day to review the situation, along with our measures and plans.
If you have any further questions relating to this matter, please do not hesitate to make contact with your client relationship partner. We will keep all clients abreast of any further developments in our approach to dealing with the coronavirus outbreak, and we wish you well at this difficult time.
