Chris Slater


Chris qualified with RPG in 1981 and became a partner in 1985.He established the corporate recovery team in the early 1990's of which he is currently National Head. Chris has spent time on secondment in the retail, technology and distribution sectors assisting with restructures, fund raising and acquisitions. Chris is MD of the RPG group with specific responsibility for corporate recovery, corporate finance and financial planning.

Jonathan Brownson


Jonathan joined RPG in 1983. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 and became a partner in 1989. Jonathan acts for clients in general practice, business consultancy, taxation and tax planning. He has expertise across a wide range of sectors including retail, wholesale, light manufacturing, property investment & development, professional practice and financial services. Jonathan also has experience in serving as a non-executive director for listed and unlisted businesses.

Peter Buckley


Peter Buckley is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has many years experience of guiding entrepreneurs through the complex issues facing them in their quest to grow their businesses. This ranges from advising on start ups right up to eventual sale of substantial company clients and includes advising on raising capital, bank funding, mergers, acquisitions, tax issues facing owners and planning the next stage of growth built on the platform of a robust accounting and reporting system.

Chris Poston


Chris Poston FCA joined RPG as a graduate trainee in 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991. He has a broad range of experience gained in advising the Practice's diverse client base over a period in excess of 20 years.

Chris is responsible for leading the firm's Forensic and Transactional Services covering corporate finance, due diligence, restructuring and the provision of expert reports to support litigation and dispute resolution.

Chris is a former member of the Audit Committee of Turning Point, the UK's leading social care charity.

Julian Redmond


Julian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 before joining RPG from KPMG in 1988.

After a number of years specialising in corporate audit and audit compliance, Julian took on the role of Practice Manager with RPG. Julian is now Financial Director of the RPG Group with day to day responsibility for financial, compliance, administration and information technology matters concerning the Group.

Julian is also responsible for leading the Payroll Services team based at our offices in St Asaph, North Wales.

Andrew Burnett


Andrew Burnett is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ACA), having joined RPG as a graduate in September 1989 and gaining full qualification in September 1992. He has over 21 years experience as a general practitioner and auditor, having been a “Responsible Individual” since 1997 when becoming a partner of RPG. Throughout his time at RPG, his experience and knowledge has broadened to incorporate personal, trust and corporate tax, enabling the full provision of services and advise to the wide range of long serving family owned, SME businesses across the firms' offices.

Martin Chatten


Martin Chatten is a fellow of the ICAEW. He has spent the majority of his career at large accountancy firms and joined the firm as director and National Head of Audit in February 2011.

For over 20 years he has worked with a wide range of entities: start up and owner managed businesses, not for profit organisations, pension schemes, charities, international and listed companies.

Martin has extensive auditing and reporting expertise, including listed companies and IFRS, and has been involved with many corporate transactions; funder and acquiror due diligence, business plan validations and working capital reports to support fund raisings.

Ian Paramor


Ian is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 he joined RPG in 1996 primarily gaining experience in the areas of general practice and audit services. Ian has many years of experience dealing with owner managed businesses, including accounts, taxation and advisory matters, and he has become a responsible individual in respect of audits. Ian is also responsible for student training within the firm.

James Amos


James is a Chartered Tax Adviser with more than 20 years’ experience advising companies and their directors on of a wide range of business tax issues.

Having originally trained with HM Revenue & Customs James moved to the accountancy profession and worked for several large accounting firms - Deloitte, KMPG and Ernst & Young. His clients included FTSE listed entities and significant international concerns.

More recently James has specialised in advising Owner Managed Businesses providing a wide range of tax services including advice on corporate acquisitions and disposals, Research & Development tax credits, share option schemes and remuneration planning. He has a great deal of experience advising on the personal and company tax implications of business start-ups including investments using the Enterprise Incentive Scheme and the Seed Enterprise Incentive Scheme.

James also specialises in advising on property transactions with experience of dealing with complex corporation tax, VAT and Stamp Duty Land Tax issues.

Alan Coleman


Alan Coleman is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Alan has worked at Ernst & Young in London and also at KPMG in Manchester working on high profile insolvencies including Barings Group of Banks and Commodore Computers. Alan now specialises in advising owner managed businesses and self employed individuals with cash flow problems and insolvency issues. Alan is licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Phill Owen


Phill is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Planning and is both a Certified and Chartered Financial Planner and joined RPG in 1999 as head of Private clients. Phill has over 20 years experience in assisting high net worth individuals in relation to their investments, pensions, trusts and tax.

Phill typical clients include company directors, trustees, and individuals that have retired or are looking to retire over the next 10 years or so. A typical review would include a comprehensive review of a clients current position, a strategic plan in achieving the clients goals taking into account tax, investment returns and in particular the risks he client is willing to accept in achieving their goals. Phill outsources the Investment Management to independent parties that are monitored on a regular basis. Phill goal is for the business to provide a wealth management proposition which has a reputation for being trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional and to be seen as the preferred solution for financial planning.

In addition to advising high net worth individuals Phill also acts for a number of ex pat clients in Spain, France, Switzerland, Dubai and the US coordinating the investment and tax advice within each jurisdiction.

Anthony O'Connor


Anthony heads up the Manchester office of RPG Wealth having joined us in 2013. Anthony has over 15 years' experience in Wealth Management in both the UK & Ireland. Prior to joining RPG Wealth he worked for 8 years serving in prominent positions within HSBC bank where he primarily specialised in managing the needs of the bank's affluent clients. Anthony is also a member of the RPG Wealth Investment Committee.

Anthony has been awarded Chartered Financial Planner status and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner.

Anthony is responsible for the Corporate Financial Planning offering for the Group and in particular delivering RPG Wealth's Auto Enrolment Solution for its clients.
